The Val d'Orcia is one of the landmarks of Tuscany, a UNESCO World Heritage Site because:

La Sovana is located right on the border between the Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana in an enchanted land where the rolling hills of Tuscany blend with the green Umbrian forests. Being in a border town La Sovana seems to be the ideal place from which to explore central Italy.
